Our Packaging
Our packaging is beautiful and practical. It preserves the freshness of the high quality herbs in our tea and it honors nature which has provided the herbs by minimizing waste. Much fine loose tea on the market is sold in tins. Though people have grown accustomed to tea tins, this packaging is really quite unnecessary, wasteful, impractical. Tea tins are beautiful and they are great for storing jewelry and other small items, but if you drink a couple containers of tea a month, this would quickly create many more tins than an average person could ever find a use for. Though a tin may be durable and protect the tea inside from exposure to the air outside, as soon as a person starts to take from the tin, it exposes the tea inside to a layer of air.

It is exposure to air, more than almost any other factor that causes the quick deterioration of flavor and aroma. Though tea tins seem quite secure, in reality they are not much better than leaving tea unpacked in a bowl on a table exposed to the air. We pack our loose tea in thick and durable 5-millimeter, resealable bags to protect freshness. As a person uses the tea inside, they can gently squeeze out excess air before resealing the bag, protecting from air exposure. Our bags are sturdy and practical. Kept inside a box to protect from light and damage, this is the ideal packaging for tea. Our boxes, designed by Heather Waugh, convey the elegance, quality, and appeal of our tea line. Each package provides numerous details about our wonderful teas, along with preparation instructions and serving suggestions. Our goals as we have designed our packaging has been elegance, simplicity, practicality, and care for the environment. Many of our customers have told us that they love to reuse our bags for spices and herbs (which also benefit from protection from air exposure). They say they have not found more durable bags anywhere. We encourage people to reuse our bags, or to recycle them along with our boxes, to help us in our commitment to preserve the environment which has blessed us with an abundance of natural healing herbs.
